Clayton-Clarinda Arts Pottery Studio offer individual, practical tuition in sculpture, hand-building and throwing in our well-equipped studio - a carefully developed blend of learning and fun for a maximum of eight students at a time. Places are strictly limited by the space available, so there may be a waiting list for some classes.

For beginners the course is a good general introduction ceramics that covers making techniques such as slab building, throwing and coiling as well as decorating techniques and glazing. You learn ways to develop ideas and are encouraged to explore the work made by other makers.

As a more experienced student, wanting to explore and develop your specific skills or ideas, you can plan and write your own projects briefs that allow you to pursue more individual and personal approaches to your work.
